As a career coach and former pro triathlete, Coach Stacey knows that great results come from a comprehensive approach to training, attention to detail, and knowing how to put it all together. For over 15 years, she has developed her signature style: leveraging race experience, providing science-based expertise, and paying close attention to athlete feedback, data, and training response. She embraces both the art and science of coaching. Along with her passion and enthusiasm, Stacey brings a lifetime of athletic excellence and education to her coaching. A former Duke swimmer, she then “grew up” to become a top-ranked triathlete, garnering the NCTS Women’s Open title 5 times, achieving National Age Group Champion 3 times, representing NC at Best of the US, and qualifying for USAT Age Group Worlds and Ironman World Championships. As a mother of two in her late 30s, she stepped up to the non-draft professional triathlon ranks at both the 70.3 and 140.6 distances. After her pro racing, Stacey subsequently rounded out her experience to include open water distance racing, ultra biking and running, and gravel bike racing. Coaching has always been her dream job, since her first time standing on deck at age 16! She has spent nearly 30 years coaching in various capacities beyond triathlon, including Special Olympics, US Masters Swimming, NC Youth Multisport, Pacers Run club, Couch to 5k programs, group fitness, and Wellness coaching. Always willing to engage, Stacey has a long history of supporting the triathlon community in the Triangle through volunteering her time and donating services. She has guest lectured at UNC in the Exercise Physiology Dept, published in Active.com and Endurance Magazine, headlined at various events hosted by Inside Out Sports, Fleet Feet, NC Multisport Expo, and local triathlon clubs, and guest- starred on Performance Bike Coach Corner. She believes in service and community building, and as such she also volunteers at local races and events. S E R V I C E S TRIATHLON We welcome all levels of triathletes and create a customized program based on athlete skill level, target events, and work/life/training balance. We closely monitor your skill development and training response in all three sports, finding the perfect balance to train you at the right level while we also prevent injury and promote recovery. SWIMMING Coaching is available both in the pool as well as open-water specific training with skillwork for sighting, mass starts, panic management, and swimming straight! All levels of swimmers are welcome, from beginners to competitive swimmers of all ages. CYCLING Cycling training has many options, both on and off-road. As part of your training, we assess bike fit, pedal stroke mechanics, skill level, handling, pacing, and power distribution. We work together to define your event-specific challenges for triathlon, road, and gravel events and then train you appropriately. RUNNING It’s so seemingly simple yet it’s not! With a trained eye for running biomechanics, Coach Stacey launches each runner to success by leveraging her expertise in gait analysis and related functional strength. We work together to optimize your run and to prevent injury at all times during your training. As needed, athletes often have run-specific prehab, drills, plyometric, or form work to support their running goals and to get injury-free results. You won’t just get a run program; you’ll get a run education! STRENGTH We offer customized strength and conditioning coaching, various formats including home-based workouts, TRX suspension training, circuit training, sport-specific strength work, and high performance conditioning. In simple terms, we aim to get stable, get strong, then go long! NUTRITION Fueling is a pillar of your success as an athlete and our services bring you to the next level. Certified nutrition coaching may start with simple food journaling and menu planning then progress to more advanced concepts like nutrient timing and micro/macronutrient tracking, race-day nutrition, and deeper analysis. WELLNESS Great results come from great training and guidance but also minding your overall physical and mental health. It’s all one nervous system and it’s yours! Incorporating the latest science and research may perhaps be the secret weapon for athletes who have never monitored the state of their nervous system, training load tolerance, sleep quality, and life balance. Let’s figure out together how to achieve your optimal status, make small improvements, and take amazing care of that performance machine! EVENTS We offer customized clinics, skill workshops, camps, and group training events that will be listed here and on the website calendar. Additionally, we offer custom services for our corporate clientele, shifting the paradigm towards healthy activities. PURCHASE 40-4-30 40-4-30 - $40. For 30 minutes we dig into your chosen topic, sport, workout or race files, etc. This is a great option for self-coached athletes in need of extra guidance. Video file upload is an option. Virtual or live options HOURLY Hourly Coaching - $75 The hourly coaching fee includes video and written follow up as needed. You pick the topic and we make it happen! This can be done over video link or in person COMPREHENSIVE EVAL Comprehensive Evaluation - $200 This fee is for new premium clients joining us on a full-time monthly basis or for athletes wanting a thorough performance evalation. This may include health and performance assessment, training record analysis, and functional movement screening. MONTHLY PREMIUM Monthly Premium Coaching - $245. This monthly training fee includes customized workouts sent via Training Peaks, 30 minutes of coach time per week, workout data analysis and feedback, food shopping lists, and suggested learning. Workouts upload to smart devices and are fully customized. CUSTOM We also offer functional strength screenings, TRX how-to, open water escort sessions, “race sherpa” services, video taping, meal and menu planning, semi private sessions, and parent-child sessions.
